Cathy Brett: General Manager

Cathy was raised in Naramata and returned to the area in 2005 after living on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, Mexico and Calgary. Cathy has over 20 years’ leadership experience in the Human Resources and Food Services fields. Cathy lives in Penticton with her husband, their three dogs and one cat. She enjoys being a part of the family-centric team at The Hamlets at Penticton and is honoured to be able to support our residents, their families and our team members.

Tara McNaughten: Director of Care

Tara is our new Director of Care and comes to us from Manitoba. She is thrilled to be a new BC’er. She has been in health care for 24 plus years and her passion is older adults. We are happy to have her part of our Hamlets Team.


Sarah: Recreation

Hello! My name is Sarah and I oversee the Recreation program here at The Hamlets at Penticton. I graduated with my degree in Therapeutic Recreation and am a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. I find joy in being able to make a difference in the lives of older adults through recreation. Whether it be playing ping pong, enjoying a tea social, gardening, or walking along Skaha beach, these experiences can provide purpose, health, and opportunities to socialize for our residents. 


Lauri: AL Coordinator

I am very happy to be working for this amazing workplace! I have loved getting to know the residents & their families, staff and management of The Hamlets. I feel like I am amongst family during my work days. A bit about my work history:  I am an LPN with work history including: team lead on a dementia unit;  Penticton Regional Hospital – worked full time on various units including surgical, emerg, medical south and SP3. ;  supervisor for home and community care Home supports; Resident Services Manager / Health and Wellness Manager for AL. My personal life includes a husband, a 29 year old son, 25 year old daughter and an almost 19 year old daughter. We have 2 gigantic dogs, a tiny cat and a Chinese fighting fish. On my days off I love mountain biking to the KVR tunnel from my home; paddle boarding on the many beautiful lakes that surround us in BC, camping, outdoor concerts, rock hunting, hiking, wine touring and gardening.

Debra: Community Relations Coordinator

Debra has been at the Hamlets at Penticton for the past 2 years and is enjoying her role as our Community Relations Coordinator. She came to the Hamlets with 25 years in the Hotel Industry in Marketing and Management!


Deborah: Business Assistant

I was raised in Penticton BC and now reside in Summerland BC with my husband Kevin. We have 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons who keep everyone smiling!
My background has been in the business sector ranging from banking and finance to investments.  I joined The Hamlets family in August 2018 and am so proud to be part of it.


Kathie: Scheduler

My name is Kathie, I am the Scheduler for the Hamlets at Penticton. I have worked at the Hamlets for going on 4 years. I was born in Summerland BC and have been working in Health care for about 23 years. I am a very fortunate person to be able to live and work in this beautiful valley I call home.

Tara: Care Services Lead

Tara has been in health care for 11 years. She started out as a care aide working mostly in long term care. Tara went back to school for Nursing where she graduated with Honours. Since then Tara has worked in long term care, home support and at Sprott- Shaw teaching classes for the nursing program. She spent the last two years of her career as a Correctional Nurse at Okanagan Correctional Centre in Oliver. I am now a Care Services Lead here at The Hamlets in Penticton.

Cloe: Care Services Clerk

Cloe was born and raised here in Penticton, and graduated early in 2016. Shortly after graduation, Cloe went to College at Okanagan College where she received her Nursing Unit Assistant certificate. She has worked in Penticton Regional Hospital and Kelowna General for the past two years and in this past year started teaching the Nursing Unit Assistant course at Okanagan College. Cloe loves hunting, fishing, learning and teaching.

Brandy: HR Assistant

Having recently graduated from SFU with a certification in Human Resources Management, Brandy is seasoned in Administration with over years in the field, three of which have been in HR. Having recently joined the Hamlets, she is looking forward to keeping the culture strong through encouragement and motivation.

Sharlin: Care Services Lead

Sharlin has been with the Hamlets at Penticton for ten years. Starting as a care aide, she has been working in recreation and as a 1-1 and returned to school for her practical nursing 5 years ago. She is passionate about our residents and believes in high quality care that encompasses mind, body and the soul.

Robert: Food Services Manager

We would like to welcome Robert to our Hamlets team here in Penticton as our new Food Services Manager. Robert has been a Chef for his whole adult life and is very passionate about what he does. He is looking forward to serving the residents at the Hamlets at Penticton and working with his fellow team members. Welcome to the Hamlets at Penticton Robert!
