Staying connected with loved ones has been a challenge through the pandemic: at a time when most of us could use a hug, we are least able to provide that comfort for each other. In light of social distancing, many digital services have popped up to help keep people connected. Though it may not be comparable to seeing someone in-person, a message or a video-chat can still provide one invaluable benefit: it lets your loved ones know that you’re thinking of them.
For many, the holidays in a normal year can be an emotionally draining time, but especially with Covid-19, isolation and uncertainty get added to the mix. This holiday season will be different—to put it one way. Everybody could use a reminder right now: that there are people out there who love you, and are willing to take the time to reach out to you.
Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp; there are a multitude of apps to video-chat with loved ones. These services are great for having a virtual conversation face-to-face, but there are also times when a message better suits the purpose. That’s why the Hamlets have set up a “Connect With a Loved One” Service. If you’d like to get a message to a resident, simply follow the link and fill out the form—you can even attach photos and other files. We promise that your loved one will get your message at the earliest convenience—without having to fuss over technology.
Keeping in touch is important now more than ever, so we hope that our new service will help to ensure that everyone stays connected despite the pandemic.
